Your privacy is important to us. Nightara collects and uses information needed to create accounts, operate the dream journal, provide social features, deliver subscriptions, support safety tools and improve the app.
Information We May Collect
- Account information, such as email address, display name and authentication provider
- Dream content, comments, images, profile information and app activity you choose to create or share
- Subscription status and entitlement information provided by Apple, Google or RevenueCat
- Device and usage information needed for app functionality, diagnostics, safety and security
- Reports, blocks, moderation actions and support requests
How We Use Information
We use information to operate Nightara, provide AI-assisted features, show feeds and profiles, process reports, enforce safety rules, provide customer support, manage subscriptions and improve reliability.
AI Processing
Nightara may send dream-related inputs to third-party AI providers through our backend to generate interpretations, symbol explanations, image prompts, recommendations and other AI outputs. We do not sell personal information to AI providers.
Safety and Moderation
We may review reported content, account activity and moderation history to detect abuse, remove objectionable content, block abusive users, suspend accounts or terminate accounts that violate our rules.
Data Sharing
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, including hosting, analytics, authentication, subscriptions, AI processing and support tools. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, Nightara or the public.
Data Retention
We retain user account information, dream entries, comments, images, preferences, subscription status and related app activity for as long as your Nightara account remains active or as needed to provide the app's features.
Reports, blocks, moderation history, bug reports, support requests and safety-related records may be retained as needed to investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, prevent repeat violations, protect users and comply with legal obligations.
If you delete your account or request deletion of your data, we will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, generally within 30 days, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting or compliance purposes.
Some backup copies, security logs and system records may remain in secure backups for a limited period, generally up to 90 days, before being automatically deleted according to our backup retention practices. Some information may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form that no longer identifies you.

Your Choices
You may manage your account, delete content, cancel subscriptions through the app store, block users and contact us for support. You may request account deletion from within the app settings where available.
